Well, I can safely say - that's one of those illusions. However far space may seem, you are talking about exploring something simply by having a telescope. Newton and Kepler were both successful at observing distant bodies centuries ago, but diving - nobody has. Another important piece - in space, you are dealing with just ONE atmosphere of pressure difference between Earth and Space. In the deep ocean, the difference can be 300 Atmospheres of pressure. So we are talking about a COMPLETELY different challenge. Take that as well into your perspective. |

Sorry for beating a dead horse, but this is last post regarding this oceangate crap:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCW9BbpER2I&t=9m03s On this link (timestamp annotated), you can listen to an interesting discussion about the submarine vs space station. Why is it actually much harder to construct a submarine, than a space station to be put in space. |

I'm not the one pointing out a problem without offering up viable solutions in science, or even a grounded idea. Your issue, you find your own solution on your own dime. I still await your ground breaking approach to address these issues you are so up in arms about, which although monetarily speaking will not cost you anything, will cost you time and thought. Looking forward to your reply that addresses your concerns you pointed out with our current approach to these issues across meteorology and ocean exploration.

Discussions over science are at least based in some amount of measurable truth, unlike politics. Good luck with that spectrum of discourse and picking apart which pile of poo has more nuts in them, not to mention what Trips has already said about this thread being clear of politics.

BTW, I never brought up ocean floor mapping, and was a by-product somehow of the discussion. Read through the posts.

My point is, and I've said this in previous posts, complaining is easy and doesn't cost near as much in thought and time as coming up with at least a hypothesis on an actual scientific grounded approach to improve something. Unless one is actually going to offer a solution, complaining about something (or at the bare minimum it came across as you being displeased) does nothing but make someone look like they are banging on a drum just to have attention. |
