I've always respected Scott Kilmer, and I agree with what he says:

Geico just raised the rates on my insurance renewal, for a 2011 Kia Forte, $800 a year. We have no tickets or accidents.

Car is 12 years old and has less than 45,000 miles on it. Book value is $4,000. Asked why so much. They told me that the average driver in my state drives 15,000 miles a year.

I said what does that have to do with me? They basically said “take it or leave it”. So I left it. I asked them if it had anything to do with all the thefts? They assured me NO!

Went back to Progressive for same price I’ve been paying for the last 5 years.

Anyone want to steal it for me? Apparently you don’t even need the keys! LOL!

I feel your pain brother. Went through the same thing and each 6 months is a $40/month hike, even with no claims/tickets/etc.

Another TikTok challege :shakes head: Depends on the model. If you have the push-start button, it's alot harder to steal than the models using the physical keys. My wife has a Kia also and I basically take out all important documents (such as registration and anything that shows our personal information) and only carry it when driving.

Is the savings with Progressive alot? I'm looking for different carriers.

It’s a key start. Yes, the savings are roughly $70 a month.

I was with Progressive 5 years ago and Geico blew them out of the water. Now it’s the other way around. Obviously it pays to shop around.

<< WASHINGTON, April 20 (Reuters) - The U.S. House of Representatives on Thursday passed a Republican bill intended to ban transgender women and girls from competing in women's and girls' school sports, delivering at least a short-term victory to social conservatives.

The House passed the measure by 219-203 but it has little chance of passing the Democratic-controlled Senate. President Joe Biden has also voiced his opposition to the bill, calling it discriminatory, and has vowed to veto it if needed. >>

Can anyone here explain why you would veto this bill? Yea, I’m looking at you EW! LOL! :hello:

Heard that State Farm isn't issuing any new policies for Kia's and Hyundai's because of the thief problem.
