I'm originally from Croatia - a typical balkan country, but I'm living for quite some time in Slovenia now. Few years ago (me aged 33) going into the store to buy lunch for my lunch break, and I see a dude (junkie looking dude) running out with a basket full of goodies. The cashier shouting behind him, with a desperate face, stopping at the exit. Me in full training, physically peaking, thinking - if not now, then when - I put away my sunglasses and sprint after the dude. Caught him in about 100m, he threw the basket, but as I was just behind him, I nudged him forward. As he was in full running speed, he just fell flat on his face on the pavement, sound like a sack of potatoes being thrown on the floor. Kept lying there, and I didn't do anything else. Just picked up the basket, walked back to the store, looking behind as it about then dawned on me that the dude might hit me in the back with me not looking, but he just kept lying there from what I last saw looking back. I returned the basket, cashier at the verge of tears. Picked up my lunch and went back to the workplace to eat. I then tell the story of what just happened to my coworkers, who immediately start worrying because "this guy can sue you", "you shouldn't have been physical with him", "that's really risky what you did" etc. Me listening, still amazed thinking back about it - who gives a **** about a thief? Because where I'm originally from, the balkan - he's lucky he didn't end up with broken bones, because people there couldn't give less **** about laws, protection, rights, etc, especially if it's such thieving matter.

That’s just it… my generation didn’t “sue” people when their shite went sideways. It was embarrassing. You take your beating, tip your hat and hold a grudge, but you didn’t rat. Nothing worse than a rat…:shakes head:

My favorite was when I jumped 18.5 garbage cans on my bicycle. I remember the wings sprouting outta my arse and coming to the conclusion that “this was going to hurt”. LOL!

I got laid out with my own motorcycle helmet. Was out riding with a couple of friends. Stopped to get gas and lunch. Buddy's GF decides she wants to try on my helmet. After that, she starts to swing my helmet around by the chin strap. I go to get my helmet back. Walk up behind her as she is turning around. Caught me upside the head. The lights went out. I wanted to kill her when I came to.

I never watched training day :icon14:

But yeah, that was basically my response. Let's say that in some crazy *** scenario the dude finds out my name, sues me and brings me to court - I'll have no problem having an alibi of my girlfriend or my workplace, and being a normal citizen, whereas the crackhead on the other hand accused of stealing will have a hard time proving anything. Same reason why I'd do the same thing tomorrow if it happened.

Another reason why helmet laws are BS! :icon17:

If I learned one thing about Balkan people it's that they're crazy and typically don't back down from confrontations.

Love watching videos of Red Star games vs Partizan.

It's humid and hot as sh!t in FL....this is not nice weather.

But I'm glad it's here so it can discourage out of state visitors, such as spring breakers.
