After looking at the numbers, it becomes clear how rash and erroneous that claim is. According to the EIA 2020 data, Russia makes up 6% of the Top 10 countries we use to import oil. While it is true that the number of barrels from Russia increased 50% between 2020 and 2021, it is patently false that we ever came remotely close to sourcing 1/3 of our oil imports from Russia. And what a terrible thought to think that we would ever rely that much on Russia for anything :eekdance: |

We still are the #1 producer of crude oil, follow by Russia and Saudi Arabia |
Regardless of the %'age of oil we're importing from Russia, the real question is WHY ARE WE IMPORTING ANY OIL FROM RUSSIA? We have more than enough oil within our own borders to satisfy our own consumption! Sending those dollars (any dollars) to a country like Russia should be considered criminal, at best!
