Our 'part-time' QA person is making my life difficult. A problem that would have taken 30 minutes to resolve face-to-face took all day and it's still not resolved. There were errors made on the paperwork (we did not correctly identify the part when it was returned to the vendor for testing and they returned it as their part number. We had shortened the power wires and added parts so it could be installed in our application, which altered it's local part number. It went to the vendor and was returned after their testing with our parts still attached.) She returned the item to stock under a part number that IDs the part as a motor with 36" power wires, when it was in reality, a motor with 8" power wires & added parts. :icon14: It is technically non-conforming, because she didn't properly document the part on the original non-conforming paperwork. :shakes head:

I'm just about done with all of this. She made it a lot harder than it needed to be and by taking over an hour to respond to emails... well, that's just sheer incompetence. :mad:

I'm all for accomodating people when it comes to work/life balance. I'd love to be able to work from home, but I can't. I have to be here to build stuff to send things out to customers in a timely manner and I can't do that when the QA person shows up on Thursday afternoon for a half day and takes over an hour to respond to email. Either work comes first during the time us poor idiots are in the shop, or it doesn't. If it doesn't, then I need someone here that can inspect incoming parts so we can be productive.

Totally agree. We have the same issues here with some of our technical sales admins.

Sales and technical people are in their own little worlds.

Went deep sea fishing today. Got sea sick and still got some fish. We ended up with 220 lbs of tuna. :icon14:
