Conan introduces new Tonight Show character
Conan O'Brien's $1.5 Million Bugatti Veyron Mouse - Bugatti Veyron - Jalopnik
Anyways, it looks like Friday will be his last show on NBC. |
before all this, i always liked o'brien more than leno.
i thought he was funnier. |
The general internet population tends to favor conan over leno.
|
Yeah. At this point I think Leno would be better suited just to do a weekly car show on SPEED.

Conan was just a bit too edgy for the general public. He lost about 50% of the Tonight Show Audience. :(

Leno should have pushed for the american top gear instead of another late night show. |
If top gear america existed, IMO Leno should have been one of the host. From what I read they had two cars guys.....and a interior drapery design consultant???? WTF.....well kinda glad NBC never aired it....I'll stick with the BBC orginal.

Conan O'Brien reminds me of Woody Woodpecker! You couldn't pay me too watch him, or his show!
|
I like them both, but they are very different in terms of show hosting and comedic style. Leno is much better suited to the "prime" late night slot compared to Conan, imo.

What really aggravates me about all this is that NBC did not give Conan a fair shot at the show. It usually takes awhile for the public to warm up to a new host on a long-time running show like The Tonight Show. How many people tuned out the first year when Leno took over for Johnny Carson? How long did it take for Jay to gain ratings equal to Carson's?
If it were me, I'd say to Jay Leno, "Hey, it's too bad your prime time experiement failed, but such is life. We/you took a risk and it didn't pay off. We'll help you find something else, but you cannot have your old job back." Just out of principle, I certainly will not watch Jay when he returns to the Tonight Show. I don't feel sorry for Conan, as he's getting a nice severance package, who I do feel bad for are his staff, many that don't make exorbitatant amounts of money and are now unemployed. Some even moved to LA. |
