Humans are a disease to the planet. Covid was it's immune system fighting back.

As a human race as a whole we still think selfishly and in short term like any other animal. In order for our species to survive and improve into the future we collectively need to start seeing the bigger picture so to speak.

A deer without sufficient predators etc to keep it in balance will overpopulate an area and eat too much of the vegetation and create self inflicted famine and disease which then knocks the population back into equilibrium again. Or some wolves move into that area and kill off enough deer to accomplish the same thing.

Sustainable farming that doesn’t strip the land of its nutrients and cutting down on # of livestock and eating less meat, especially red meat; reducing our population by breeding less, dealing with our self inflicted global warming/climate change mess using science and common sense not panic or denial; etc

We all need to start thinking less selfishly short term and more long term. We still think and act like the less intelligent animals on this planet, our politics reflect that as well as how we live etc.

We’re the only intelligent and self aware enough animal to even have a conversation about this stuff or realize that it’s happening. That means we have the capacity to do something about it if we try hard enough.

Until we can think bigger than just our own short term self interest, we will continue to be a disease on this planet bc we operate like a parasite that can’t help itself from killing its host even if that means it inadvertently kills itself.

Go preach to China. They are the worlds largest polluter. They pollute more then everyone else combined. Until they change. Nothing is going to happen. Only your standard of living will go down. And lay your hands off my cows. I love my red meat.

Agree about China, but we lead by example, and then collectively countries can put pressure on them to improve.

One of the main reasons China is the world’s largest polluter besides too many Chinese people (see my statements above re breeding) is bc they are basically the world’s factory. Our country had much worse pollution in the 50s thru 70s as well and ironically as we offshored more and more manufacturing industry over there, we reduced our pollution as a by product.

I never said I wanted to ban red meat but your reaction to my statement is exactly the problem we are facing. Point fingers at everyone else and use them as an excuse not to do anything and not take responsibility and then refuse to even consider small changes. I never said no red meat, I said eat less of it is better for your personal health as well as our planet’s health.
