Well Dads had enough. The second round of chemo really messed him up and he is done. Just got off the phone with the first hospice liaison. That was a fun call, should have been there but only 1 visitor per day because after a year of this covid **** people are still too stupid to put a mask on in public and wash their hands you nasty mofos.

I split out of work and am going to find the answer to my problems in the bottom of one of these budweisers :yum:

Tomorrow I have to start cleaning up his place so we can get the bed and other BS set up. His 4 years of widower life is going to be fun to clean up :icon14: I see a 40 yard roll off getting dropped in the not to distant future.

And my grandma, dads mom, had a mini stroke on monday. She is knocking on 90s door and been having issues for a while. Everyone has been preparing for that one but looks like we get a double header this summer.

If anyone is interested in a '18 or '19 Sierra Denali 2500 diesel/allison, low mileage and has never towed more than a small fishing boat, let me know. I'll have that up for sale in a week or 2. It's the only thing he has a payment on so it's the first to go

Hey Carp, I am so sorry brother! It is heartbreaking regardless of when the inevitable happens. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Man, I don't have words. :(

My dad will be 90 in May and my mom is 86. Dad is going strong, Mom's short-term memory is shot and she won't get up out of her chair to do much of anything. I'm trying to get them into an assisted living facility to hopefully jolt Mom into doing something, but who knows.

Let us know if there is anything we can do, even it's nothing more than a place to vent. :icon14:

Dads only 62. Same age as a bunch of you not so old guys. I never thought my parents would make 80+ but I thought I'd have a bit more than this and a more dignifying ending. Something like he wrecked his boat while going to have a world record bass weighed in but having to fight off 2 strippers trying to go down on him in the captains chair. Or Some crazy **** at Sturgis this year, he had a trip booked for him and my aunt to ride out. They wanted to go last year but covid...

My thoughts about my sister passing have completely changed. I was both mad and sad that she went so early and missed out on so much. But the only memories I have are of her alive. I can't remember anything of dad but how he is now and it's going to get way worse in a hurry. Chits fZcked up

I would love a hell ride in your car right now:driving: that might be the only thing that would get my mind off what I'm dealing with.

I'll be ok, I just need a bit

Rusty 04-21-2021 04:43 PM

Sorry hear this Bill. :( I figure with the type of cancer he has and the stage it's in. It wouldn't be long. Just hope he goes peacefully. When my first wifey was doing chemo. It would beat her up for over a week. It's not fun to watch a loved one go thought it. :( There is nothing you can do about it either. Your dad it not the the first one to try chemo and quit it. So please not blame him for not trying. Remember the good times you had with him. Those are the memories you will cherish the most. We will keep him in our prayer, along with your gramdma. If you need anything, even to let off steam. Let us know.

It's still snowing off and on. Sometimes, I can't see across the river. Windy as chit too. Forecast is in the 80's next week. :icon14:

I don't do hell rides. Learned my lesson about that years ago. But I will give you a ride in September at Rusty's meet. We'll do what I feel is safe and not on the verge of catastrophe.

There is some stupid people out there. Going back to my work area after break. I was walking behind a guy pushing a cart with a bad wheel. So it was making noises. Walking down the center aisle. This idiot walks out of the plumbing aisle not looking where he was going to. Didn't look in either direction. Just walks right out in front of the guy pushing the cart. The guy pushing the cart hit him. There were words exchanged. The guy pushing the cart was not at fault. I had to calm both of them down. If punches were going to be thrown. I would have helped the guy with the cart. The other guy was a total azzhole.

-ZS-Carpenter 04-21-2021 05:25 PM

Thanks guys. It's a lot to take in in a short while.

But now the  :gtfo2: guano hit the fan. Just got the call I have to go toss the naught fun bag in a dumpster before grandma finds it :barf:

PSA: have someone other than your kids ready to go toss your old dildo collection before something happens :shakes head:
