Nice to see the days getting longer again! I'm looking forward to the arrival of spring (once I've gotten the skiing bug out of my system, of course)

Best wishes to all of you for a lovely Friday!

I got mine fixed before I left to go to Kommifornia. I had replaced the shaft that the impeller spins on, only to have the hose that circulates water break. Naturally, that's all part of the pump, so I can't just replace it with a piece of heater hose. $50 for the pump, then disassemble the new pump, remove the 'ceramic' shaft that breaks, disasemble the old pump, remove the carbon fiber shaft I just put in, install that in the new pump, reassemble the new pump, install that into the control head and fill the tub. The water temp was 80* Tuesday morning when I left and hit 96* some time that day. I got home last night, no leaks and temp was holding at 96*

Happy Gubment check day! I hope all are doing well today and ready for the weekend and moving forward into the last month of the first quarter if you can believe already. Yes, Spring is upon us and that means psychopathic weather from now to Easter for us but the warm days are the best. I can't wait to spend time lounging in our newly landscaped back yard. Please come share it with us if you are near by as we are only an hour and half from Las Vegas and we have a couple spare bedroom and RV hookup. As for the track day Florida meetup that sound like a great idea and agree about either a fall, winter or spring date. I will see what I can arrange Mr. Elmo and ssfirehawk. It would a great way to honor our brother Eddie as he still serving us in the Army Reserves. He has deployed in Iraq for the past year and will be there until July. I am supposed to play in a senior softball tournament this weekend. I will probably sit the bench, drink beer and pinch hit if they need me. Got a cortisone shot in my left knee yesterday and it is already feeling normal again. I told my orthopedist about my symptoms I am experiencing on the left side of my body and he said I have a compressed disc is my neck. I just stared...glared at him an said really, thank you for that great and wonderful news. We both start laughing, I was just like WTF I am turning into Rusty. I know we look a like, and the only difference he is several inches taller but dang at this rate my wife will be sending me to auction like Rusty did with his motorhome LMAO. Anyway, time to make that bacon! Yawl, be safe and sanitary!!!

I bought my hot tub in 2004. I'm on my 3rd pump/motor combo. When the pump seals let go. It takes out the motor. :icon14: Found out that the amount of chlorine used has an effect on the seals. Instead of bringing the level up in one shot. I dose it twice weekly. Got the new cover on with the hydraulic lift. That lift is NICE! :happydance:

Mine only needs about a tablespoon of chlorine once a week. I keep bromine tabs in floaters all the time. I talked to the spa store out here and that was their recommendation.

I was throwing in 2 oz at a time. Now just 1 oz twice weekly. I keep the ph at 7. Chlorine works best at that level.
