We already have enough evidence for it to go to a criminal investigation to be started by the judge and the District attorney. This year has been hell and very few folks have been the wiser. I will raise my glass New Years to get to the truth in 2021 and for justice to be served. Several somebodies should be going to jail for a long time. That's all I got to say about that.

Glad to hear something is happening. I don't know about Ga law. But here in Pa. You have to go through the criminal trial before you can do a civil suit. If you do the civil first. They won't do a criminal. Something to check on.

You have it backwards. Many civil cases kick off a criminal case if the evidence supports it. I don't see a judge letting someone get away with it. Not happening.

Not in Pa. I sued a contractor and won. I talked to the DA about the case and he said that I can't bring charges against him because of the civil suit.

I hope it works out for you.

That sounds like a double jeopardy issue; if the state comes after someone civilly, they can't go after them in criminal court for the same offense.

If an individual sues another individual, that has no impact on double jeopardy. #twolegalcentZ

PA is weird as **** in that aspect, bc an individual can bring crim charges against a person on behalf of the state... in which case double jeopardy applies. If the DA wanted to bring criminal charges against the defendant, it wouldn't apply.

Or the DA was blowing smoke up your EW-hole.

Paying for 2 lawyers at once sucks Reps... That is all I can say. When the day comes I can talk about it, I won't. Too painful. So don't ask.
