It just seems like these weekends fly by faster and faster.

Have a great day all. Remember not to stop moving blades or gears with your hands or genitals, always use somebody else's.

Eugene is a nice enough guy. But yeah lack of experience is a bit concerning. A tune is not exactly the place I want to cut corners on. Although I know that Ecutek knock sensor is a weird one for some people. You gotta do a little work to be sure it's just overly sensitive sensor and not actual knock.

Well, what ya gonna do if you have detonation and your knock sensor doesn't pick it up? With E85, that can happen. Blow a headgasket, break a ring land, and the engine shows signs of detonation but you don't see in your logs. Mostly happens to folks on pump E85.
My engine builder told me to be on barrel E85 if running the higher boost settings. Ignite Red or Ethanol One R.

Gonna drive dad’s 10yr old Taco w/40k on the clock As it needs to have it’s legs stretched, as I perform all the maintenance on it as well.
As far as spending on hardware; I’ll pass on commenting
Lotta work left to do, as I’m gonna repair pickup before Z comes back in garage...then it’s getting major surgery
Rear subframe removal, fuel tank removal, complete suspension removal, etc............
I’m sure you’ll be up & running before me, as I’ll be in turtle mode by then
Well, I'm hoping to be up and running by Spring 2021... Motor is already in the works, Mazworx that is , but that's not going to be the hold up it seems. The FI TT stage 2 kit is the biggest wait (figure another 4 months)but my order is already placed. With that said, I know to expect the unexpected but as of right now things are ahead of schedule.

I'm envious of you Joby as there's nothing more satisfying than doing the work yourself and reaping the rewards. There's a lot to be said about taking your time and doing it right your own way especially someone who's got the skill set/mind set that can easily accomplish this. Also having the full complement of tools helps too!

I realize it can be an issue with pump E85 due to the randomness of the ethanol content. But there have been a couple of NA guys who had similar issues and weren't running E85. I think they both ended up lowering the sensitivity on the knock sensor on the advice of their tuner. Trying to remember who they were and which tuners. But I can't find it right now.

Elmo370z had the same problem. Seb was tuning it. Put on the SOHO oil catch can setup and that solved it. Knock was gone. I would never reduce the sensitivity of the knock sensor. That is not an option. You got to know the hardware to understand what the software is telling you.
