This virus has been sitting comfy in that part of the world for a long time, not sure why everyone is so shocked that this outbreak has finally happened. Governments sit there not giving a **** until well, it hits the fan. Governments in Asia anyway.

All of the numbers that come out of China for those infected and killed by the virus are drastically understated, take my word for it. The Chinese government doesn't want to look weak or as if it cannot control it. They did a poor job controlling and containing it and I'm pretty sure it is worse than we know.

Anyways, diligent work is being done to put an end to this, but I'm laughing at how much of a **** job Canada and many other countries have done to prevent the spread of the virus. All flights should have been stopped, to and from that region in China as soon as word got out. Secondly, and I know this sounds like a bad thing to say, but if you're infected stay there or the government should set up a isolated location with medical gear to diagnose and treat patients, NOT bring them into major city centres.

Thought we'd have heard more about this cocktail approach over the past week. Guess it proved to be less effective than first thought.

Police also can kill. https://flyheight.com/videos/bq13h0/
Look at the past time line and the results of the SARS virus. What china said and what happened. I feel this is worse. This virus may take 14 days in some before showing symptoms, but in the meantime can infect everyone around. The mask only help those around that are infected from spreading it faster. Your mask isn't doing squat to protect. The number we get in the news is a fraction of what is going on. https://leakreality.com/video/106628...m-corona-virus

Coronavirus 2019-nCoV Global Cases by Johns Hopkins CSSE
Only two deaths outside of China - one in Hong Kong and one in the Philippines. About 350 people infected outside of China and that number is growing very slowly. I don't really trust China's numbers but the rest of the world is probably pretty accurate.

Over 3x as many people have recovered as have died (and the ratio is getting better) - it's some bad sh1t but we've seen worse.

ZeeingAround 02-09-2020 11:32 AM

They are taking people to where more are infected. Can you imagine this happening in a free society? Be glad you do not live in China.

Theres no way of checking the validity of that tweet. However youre right about a free society, which is more reason to vote wisely in November.

They're also welding shut apartment complexes and homes of confirmed cases.

Falconquey 02-09-2020 12:35 PM

I heard they were building a huge plexiglass bubble over Wuhan. Again, just what I heard from connection close to the source. :icon14:

The bottom line is that China is not telling the truth. When you lock down over 80 million people, shut down social media, treat anyone who has the virus like criminals. You have problems. China tried to cover it up, and it blew up on them. Everyone else was/is proactive. If this virus gets to India, Africa, South American, poor countries. It's game over for a lot of people for the lack of treatment.

I look for this virus to die out around April, May. If it comes back next winter. It may be stronger. That's what the spanish flu did.

I'm a US-born Korean, and unfortunately, people classify me as "Chinese" simply because I'm Asian, and thus assume that I am infected. While I understand there is a mass panic created by the media and while I understand people don't want to get sick, the amount of looks I get wherever I go is astonishing, almost as if they have never seen an Asian person before. Sure, it has its perks (for example, when I go grocery shopping, people always move out of my way, and if not, I will purposely cough and that usually does the trick), and racism is nothing new to me, as I've experienced it since childhood even though I'm an American, but after this whole Wuhan virus outbreak, I'm viewed as an outsider. Not looking for pity, but I wish people would understand that not all Asian people are Chinese.

China got me fcuked up lol.

The demand for masks has skyrocketed. I travel a lot and looked into getting me some n95 masks at Amazon only to discover the degree of price gouging that has taken place. These vendors should be ashamed of themselves.

Sorry to say, but supply and demand :shakes head:
I wouldn’t want to do any traveling now a days

The problem with theses masks is that they are ineffective because the lack of seals around the mouth/nose area, meaning the virus can still enter your system.

2 weeks ago. Amazon was out of all N95's. I see now that the price has more than double. A 15 pack of 3M, Cool Flow is now $68.00. I paid $28.00 at Home Depot 2 weeks ago. We can't order them either. They're all back ordered. What's on the shelves is it.

No matter where you go, whether a brick/mortar store or online, everyone is out. For the select few e-places that have it in stock, such as Ebay or Amazon, they are charging an outrageous amount.

Another communist bull$h!t flaw. Cover it up, pacify, minimize, disinform, extreme censorship, and suppression, and if all else fails, take away their liberties and forcibly put its citizens in a metal box and ship to them to who knows where.

Hearing coronavirus is hitting N Korea hard right now. I can only imagine the horror-like nightmares NK government officials are carrying out against citizens right now.

They can't get the material to make the masks, because the material comes from China. Like a lot of other things. If this goes around much longer. A lot of factories around the world will be shutting down for the lack of material.

It will march right through that country. They will suffer the most because they are already in bad health to begin with.

This virus has been around for a while, but This new strain has taken hold worse than SARS. It can sit on hard surfaces for 9 days. HfS bad if you think of an airplane or boat. How can you disinfect a stair rail or armrest everytime. Anyway, here is a link to John Hopkins site tracking this. https://gisanddata.maps.arcgis.com/a...23467b48e9ecf6

I used to work at the container terminals. When the longshore union went on strike or when it was time for contract negotiations, it was creepy seeing all the ships anchored outside the harbor, looked like and invasion fleet. Ill have to go see how or if its empty now.

That sucks. Fcuk racism!

I am a full-blooded American via Puerto Rico (3rd generation too) that has a slightly darker complexion, and used to get called Indian or Hindu while growing up. Once 9/11 happened, it all turned into straight Arab 'jokes' and insults like Camel Jockey and Sand N*****.

Just a grandparent ago (75 yrs), the President of the US decided to round up all Japanese-Americans (mostly 2nd and 3rd generation) because a country across the globe declared war.

The capacity of humans to be so compassionate, yet also have to ability to be so incredibly cruel is truly a baffling thing.

My wife is 50% Hispanic, 25% Native American Indian, the rest is a mix of euro, mostly Irish. Everyone here thinks she's an Italian. :icon14: :rofl2:
