I searched for "community party" and the best I can tell, you meant "Communist Party." If you meant "community party", please ignore the following.

To what benefit? A Russian revolution will only lead to many more deaths and adversely affect the rest of the World (they may import a lot of stuff but they also export a lot).

It will not be a peaceful revolution - the nature of revolution is violent. People will die and the survivors will be scared. Farms and supply chains will be disrupted. People will go hungry. Scared hungry people with nukes are dangerous people.

The cure may be worse than the disease.

Edit: The same goes for China.

About every 400 years. China goes through a ruling party change. Most of the changes are cause by food shortages. It's been about 400 years since the last one. And they are having food shortages now. Pork is big in their diet. Last year they had to kill about 90% of their pigs due to the African swine flu. This year, they are killing their chickens and ducks over a bird flu. Now they have a locust swam on their boarder that came from Africa. Because of this virus and wet weather. They haven't started to plant their spring crops yet. Add the Hong Kong protests, this virus. Plus the people who lost family because of this virus. The CCP is under a lot of pressure. The CCP is close to a tipping point.

Careful what you wish for.

China is a loathsome beast, but still better kept under control by one strong leadership than civil war and general chaos. Too many arms, including nuclear, to even conceive of that. Those in the hands of warlords or groups willing to sell to the highest bidder, would be 1000 x worse than a virus we just need to sit out!!!

That is just the stability argument. Then, there is the economic one. Too much of the world relies on China - likely too much, but we've leveraged our whole standard of living on their backs for decades. What would amount to a sudden and lengthy disruption of global supply chains would create a much deeper and longer recession than this bug will.

Not sure what you would wish in the place of the Chinese flavour of communism. Democracy ain't going to happen there just like it failed in Russia, Iraq and Afghanistan. It has to be understood and wanted by the people, and supported by free and credible press. But whatever it might be, if the current system in China toppled, it would take decades to sort out and I doubt that the region, perhaps the world, would survive it.

China has the largest army in the world, and evidence is that they are not afraid to use it against their own. Doubting that any small amount of discontent or uprising is going to lead to a change in regime there.

I was at Home Depot today to pick up a new toilet fill valve that I screwed up installing. There was a lady in front of me with an oxygen concentrator on...:wtf2:
Why on earth would you be out, if you had to rely on that to survive?:gtfo2:

That's why we are doomed as a society, too many functional idiots walking around.:mad:

I saw the same thing a week or so ago... two different ladies, both on walkers and with their air tanks in tow... My only guess is that they must not have anyone that would/could help them with their shopping.

Do the supermarkets in your area offer delivery? Maybe that word needs to be spread by the media, instead of the hysteria. :ugh2:

The Chinese people have lived under the CCP for over 70 years, most of the Nationalist Chinese fled to Taiwan, and those that didn't, were exterminated by Mao. Like cossie said, they don't have enough food and their 'real industry' is stealing other country's IP and counterfeiting it.

We also have to consider that one of the main reasons the Nationalists were overthrown in China was because they were considered incredibly corrupt. To Rusty's point, maybe it's getting to where some of them would consider revolution - they can see the freedoms in democratic countries, and the younger people do seem to want them. But you'd need a combination of a charismatic leader or leaders, a failure to react swiftly on the part of the Chinese government, and a willingness to alter 70 years of habit on the part of the older generations.

Don't get me wrong, they may try to make the change, but even in our country we're not eager to make simple changes that might help a large number of people (for example, limiting the influence of lobbyists).

Followed closely behind limiting lobbyists, should be term limits. 6 years total for both House & Senate, no exceptions. :gtfo2:

Personally, i'm in favor of taking ALL them worthless pukes out behind the barn and letting a squad of Marine drill instructors PT their asses until they die....:shakes head:

Sorry, that's a topic for another thread.... :icon14:

It's not going to turn into our system overnight, there will likely be another dictator, but hopefully we have one that is less evil than the current regime that is trying to take over the world and impose world order, genocide and other evil things. One thing you can't take away from the Chinese people is food, there will be riots if there is a food shortage.

Yup, spot on. Part of their strategy is always blame the strawman, we are it right now. Why do you think they are pushing the agenda that we implanted the virus in Wuhan?

Sorry you are totally falling into their trap. You can think of their troops like their cheap manufacturing goods. They might have a lot of quantity, but not a lot of quality. Don't be a cuckold like the Canadian doctor on the WHO. The US marched into the South China Sea, fired a couple missiles, didn't get a response. They literally had to post it on Twitter to let everyone know.

Also the Chinese army is not the same as the ones from the past, their actual battle readiness is really not that high. You know what they are known for, karaoke.....

Lastly, if you think the Chinese army is strong. They would have invaded Taiwan years ago, they have been talking about it for 20 years. What have they done? Nothing. They did try to infiltrate their government by inserting these pro CCP politicians, lucky the HK people exposed them and they completely got destroyed. To make matters worse, the whole virus exposed them again.

As much as I hate Trump and the republican parties, they did completely expose the Chinese government. We would never get that with Biden, they will continue to kiss up to them in order to make money and be happy. I really hope more countries will wake up after this. I think Boris is learning his lesson, Italy too. Let's see if the Canadians and Australians will grow some back bones or will they continue to lick the Chinese money, of course that money is drying up soon.

200 years ago the west took over China with Opium, now China is returning the favor with cheap goods and their consumer buying power. History repeats itself, that's why I force my son to watch history documentaries because it keeps happening.

In my area. There is a 7 day back log to order food at some markets.

Rusty 04-01-2020 02:02 PM

The state of Pa. is locking down the whole state, not some counties as before.

We are making changes in the store. Starting tomorrow. We will limit the number of people in the store at one time. Closing down garden. One way in. One way out. Walmart is making all of their aisles one way.

My county has 14 cases and 1 death. The death was in a nursing home about 1.5 miles from work. So now everyone at work is on pins and needles.

Just for the record, we've been paying the price for over a year since Canadian police arrested the CFO of Huawei (and daughter of its founder) on America's extradition request (which you haven't followed up on, and a certain orange leader has turned from a legal matter into a political prize). Meanwhile, our farmers, forestry and manufacturing sectors have taken a hit in retaliation, and several Canadians have been arrested in China for dubious reasons immediately thereafter.

Would prefer if America grew a spine, rather than lecturing the rest of the world on how to conduct its affairs.
