What we seem to hear about from the media is the number of deaths from this virus... reportedly 3200 worldwide. What the media hardly gives equal time to is the number of infected that have recovered which is in the tens of thousands. MSM = fear whores.

The stats WHO got from China is exactly that....it’s what China allows us to see. I am waiting for this to spread enough in US to see real data from a real sample size.

People should read between the lines, will see lots of qualifier like “there is no evidence that xxxx helps or xxxx symptoms develop”....that tells you WHO actually doesn’t know what this thing is yet.

like WHO is actually on the ground in China collecting data and examining dead bodies....nope....and locals that tried to depict the truth? Disappeared....the doctor that initially tried to blow the whistle? Got punished then recently died of the disease.

FYI, my wife is an MD, brother in law a pharmacist, wife’s cousin is an RN/NP, if that matters.

cv129 03-03-2020 09:21 PM

Just clarifying...I ain’t trying to promote fear, but understand the current published sample size and data is still largely consist of the numbers China published. Wait for Europe and US to develop a large enough sample size before drawing any conclusion.

You're absolutely right. Theres alot of unknowns... which is exactly why theres a public panic. Fear of the unknown.

@ vtech to vvel

I haven’t noticed any racist attitude toward me yet, but it’s possible that I just haven’t noticed them yet since I’m probably busy handling my kids lol. Europe seems to be pretty bad, just read a report that a college dude got sucker punched and kicked just walking down a busy street in UK. There’s like an anti racist movement going on over there right now.

Theres concern that this will destablize the current regime. As if it isnt already.

When it hits the homeless. No one will know the true numbers. Those people don't go looking for help.

Bring your TPMS resetter programmer thingamagiggy, if its not too much of a hassle. My Z might still be in the shop, but just in case?

bunk 03-04-2020 10:58 AM

Woke up and read the news, 2 confirmed cases in Orange County. Got to work, read the news, 1 confirmed case in West LA. Everyone will get infected in no time. We all handle cash. Wouldnt be surprised if thats a faster way of it spreading than someone coughing on you.

BettyZ 03-04-2020 11:05 AM

Human-to-dog coronavirus transmission confirmed. From the WSJ:

In Hong Kong, a spokesman for a government agency said a Pomeranian belonging to a coronavirus patient was infected by the virus...*Veterinary experts in the city said it was likely a case of human-to-animal transmission.

Yeah, the coronavirus and its other strains are transmittable from human to animal and vice versa. CDC says to stay away from your pets if youre infected.

If you get infected, then chances are everyone in the household will be as well. Do you just let your pets out and fend for themselves? :icon14:

That's unfortunate. Both parties need to unite on this. Pandemics do not care about affiliation. But inability to see things this way is part of why there is such a rift between both groups.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. For the infected that are being isolated, who is monitoring the isolation? And if they are purposely going out, despite being told to stay isolated, who is holding them accountable?

vtec to vvel 03-04-2020 12:51 PM

And what happened to the tags???

Also, on the brighter side, the blonde news anchor in that video is HOTT!

We need GPS activated collars which track the movements of the infected.

And detonate when they are more than 5 feet from their property line.

We've past the point we're isolation/quarantine is going to matter. This thing is popping up in random areas with no explanation at this point.

People are being infected by coming into close contact with people with the virus and handling money. Money can travel VERY fast.

Not arguing that point. Just saying, the early stage precautions are basically useless at this point. Especially if the asymptomatic infected are able to spread.

The infected need to be isolated and monitored.

There is ALWAYS a source of origin, whether primary or secondary.

I guess thats the unknown that scary.
On a little more positive note, South Korea has 5,328 confirmed cases and 32 deaths. Thats a .06% death rate. I know its not that simple. Need to use # of people who have made a full recovery vs deaths. But its a rough estimate, and data from SK is more reliable than from China
