I posted this in the other thread yesterday. The panic mob cleaned out the local wally world of TP, cleaning supplies, and some food. After they left there. They cleaned out our store of TP, paper towels, and cleaning supplies. We are limiting customers to 2 cases of bottled water. Seeing them buying 2 cases, taking them out to the car. Coming back in, getting 2 more, and then going to a different cashier.

If I were smart, I wouldve invested in TP, water, sanitizer companies. Id be set for life!

Same for me. Working from home. Gotta haul all my chit to the house. I will be saving $120 in fuel bill every week.

While.......the next time we have a pandemic. You'll be ready for it then. You'll have another 100 years to prepare for it. :rofl2:

From the NYT:

In their emergency planning documents, Washington State officials lay out an escalating 13-step strategy to contain an infectious disease outbreak, a playbook that is common to public health officials around the world.

The first recommendation has been heard often in recent weeks: Increase handwashing. But the state has moved through the checklist with wrenching speed over the past two weeks. The Seattle area has already ticked off No. 10, limiting large public gatherings, and part of No. 11, the closing of schools and public buildings, Ms. Durkan noted.

Another part of No. 11 calls for closing workplaces, and No. 12 calls for the government to “prevent nonemergency travel outside of the home.” The final step says: “Establish cordon sanitaire.” Under international health policies, these are controlled zones, guarded by the authorities, to restrict movement into and out of infected areas.

I am organizing a protest of the coronavirus. We can't let this measly little virus take advantage of us like this. We are the top of the food chain! So let's everyone march on Washington DC. We'll gather millions together on the National Mall and surrounding areas and show this virus what we're made of dammit!! We're not gonna take this pandemic lying down!!

The trick is to commit on paper, but not attend. Let nature sort things out.

if not we'll have corona with lyme.....

What do you mean we? I just said I was organizing it. I would never attend something like that myself. Just giving Mother Nature an assist ;)

Good thing you're not picking up tp, all the stores are out of it.

Do not water down the alcohol below 62 percent. Below that, it's useless.

Does anyone remember the Forever Roll Charmin advertised about a year ago? I ordered 3 cases (each case comes with 3 rolls and a stand) back in April, and stored them away in my closet, and out of sight = out of mind. I totally forgot about them and found them while putting in a new mini dresser

So, to prove that there is some hope left for this sad bunch we call humanity, my wife was running errands today and afterwards decided to also stock up on some more tp and other essentials since we all live in crazy town now and it’s a scarce commodity.

First three places were out of tp, so she went to dollar general, they had quite a bit, she was able to pick and choose our preferred brand, an old black dude was also shopping for tp as well, he apparently liked the same brand we do, there was 3 12 packs left, my wife got one, he got one, and then my wife asked if he wanted the last one and he said no, better to leave it for the next person, my wife agreed. Second later, a young black lady came down the aisle with three kids and asked if there was any tp left so my wife and nice stranger helped her get a couple packs in her cart, the one “premium” one they left and one regular one.

If only everyone could just buy a little extra at a time and not panic, there’d still be plenty of everything.

Meanwhile, same store, some Hispanic lady was in full on panic mode screaming in English and Spanish into her phone about how everyone is out of everything and cursing at her little 6 or 7 yo kid and calling him stupid bc she left him to hold her place in checkout line and he spilled the cart and was nervous.

That was a low point for my people today. (Well, half my people, I’m a mutt).

The takeaway is the story about my wife and the nice old black dude calmly buying supplies and leaving extra even though they didn’t need to as a courtesy for the next person. :tiphat:

Stressful times bring out the true nature of folks, don’t be a d1ck, it’s easier to be kind and that makes everything more bearable.

bunk 03-13-2020 08:51 PM

I'm so glad we bought the kirkland brand TP last month. Theres like a hundred (so it seems) rolls in the pack

JARblue 03-13-2020 09:01 PM

My neighbor said he spent over 2 hours in line at the grocery store today. And that's not even bad from what I hear. Forget that noise.

Worst case scenario, I die  Otherwise maybe if my tap water stops. I have some stores of bottled water at work but not much in the way of food. In fact, I'm pretty much bone dry at the house in terms of food. Luckily I'm a fatass, so I've got several weeks before that really starts to be a problem. TP? Who needs it. Neighbors have elephant ear plants good for wiping. Several nearby lakes and rivers, too.

JARblue 03-13-2020 09:05 PM

WTF... that roll is huge, vtec. And they only advertise a roll to last a month? :rofl2:

I bought a 12 pack of large rolls (between the smallest and biggest sizes). Been over a year since I bought the pack. Barely half gone now - I should be good through Christmas at least. No females in the house though. Makes an enormous difference.

Dude, you need to sh1t more. That’s worrisome. Either that or you’re not wiping your a$$ well. Also worrisome, not for me, but for everyone in your immediate vicinity.

Forget TP, time to get a bidet.

Think you would either last a week, or go a full 3 months before dying, because of being pickled.

Rusty 03-13-2020 09:54 PM

They caught guy stealing TP from the restroom today. Someone heard the dispenser being broken into. :shakes head:

Then had to post a worker at the TP display to keep people from breaking the packs open and stuffing the rolls in their purses and clothes. :shakes head:

:wtf:
