I'm not suggesting it won't get that bad. It is early. Who knows where we go from here. That was my main point - we don't really have enough information to make any solid judgments yet. Next summer, I expect we'll have a pretty good understanding of what the virus was doing right now lol.

I was just saying I won't be surprised if the mortality rates are inflated because so many people get infected that aren't ever tested. Testing as many people as possible and research for treatment are the critical things right now. No point in even talking about statistics, frankly. We know they are bad and that's all we need to know right now.

More Testing, esp antibody tests and quick turn around infection tests, and research cant come soon enough. Hopefully we see a vaccine by next year.

Vaccine is definitely out next year...so for now hold tight as this would be long roller coaster ride!

Secure your puke bags!

What gets me. They tell us, no need for a mask until about 2 weeks ago. Now you can't go out without one. I've been working my normal schedule of 5 days a week. I work part time at Home Depot. I'm out in the public. No one at the store is sick or tested positive for the virus. Most us feel that if we was going to get it. We would have had it by now. Our sales numbers are up, and foot traffic has stayed about the same. Starting last Sunday. We limit the number of people into the store to 75 at a time. My county has 67 cases, and 3 dead. 90% of the cases are at a couple of nursing homes. A few are outside of them.

IIRC, the virus causes the immune system to go into hyper drive, which causes excess build up of fluid in the lungs. Researchers are working on keeping the virus from attacking the immune system so that it doesnt over react. So the different strains would be irrelevant as far as creating a vaccine, all strains of the virus have this in common. I believe its a continuation of the Sars research.

We haven’t had the 2nd or 3rd wave yet

No Im not serious and honestly when someone shared me a video of a documentary that speaks about it...btw it was immediately shut down at social media.

I didn’t believe it at all...very hard to verify validity and reliability of all information at this point about covid19.

I don’t even believe the article you posted either..everything is being fabricated.

I just live my life everyday and speak thanksgiving for seeing the sun again.

There are 2 versions of the lab tech story, but it is quite plausible.

Let’s not forget we in the west have also made such mistakes.

The 2nd UK foot and mouth outbreak was caused by contaminated effluent leaking from a pipe from Pirbright’s BSL-4 lab.

Ebola Reston was from infected
Monkeys in Reston Virgina (at least it wasn’t a dangerous strain to humans, but one monkey was stolen from the quarantine area before it even got to Reston)

Russia have made numerous mistakes, but that was mainly down to their illegal biological weapons manufacturing.

So it is highly plausible this was accidentally released from a lab in China - funny how the lab techs have been disappeared

Fair point about Italy, kinda of was a perfect storm with their population.

I still think we’re going to be looking at around 1% - 2% mortality rate when we finally get good numbers at some point. It’s bad, but it’s still not Ebola bad, if it were, half of us here would be dead by now.

Nevertheless, it’s serious and it’s social disruption factor is off the charts. That aspect may not calm down until there’s a vaccine or everyone just gets used to it, fear of the unknown has def played a big role in this as well.

Actually Ebola’s mortality rate is what stops millions and billions getting it. It does out before too many people get infected

But we don’t know how effective it will be. Remember there is no vaccine for the common cold

Yes. It’s supposed to be the immuno response that eventually kills you

Even if it was accident, we need to punish China for being dumb and hiding the fact that caused countless of deaths. They can start with taking away the independence status of HK from an economic standpoint, that would prevent a lot of inflow of capitol. We can then talk about taking their treasury notes after.

Also Taiwan broke the news they are trying to buy up all the rice in the world, likely to extort other countries a few months from now. They are evil and stupid at the same time, I hope people see through it.

China should have done more, sure. You do know that US intelligence was aware of a rapidly spreading virus in Wuhan dating back to November 2019, right?

Currently, I am more worried about how the USA punishes those in power here.

From the dummies in the streets with guns and confederate flags claiming states rights and spreading the virus, to the governors, lawmakers and up to the top in the Oval Office that choose the $$$ over the health of those that keep the 1% in their ivory towers.
