Looking at doing about a 4:12 pitch & doubling the rafters over the post....then running purlins between them

Yea it's an add on, so is the handrail. I've never used them but it's an option if it's too shaky for you. It should be fine since your platform height will only be 8' or so.

Good Sunday Morning All. Had a great day yesterday with the Mrs getting out and about enjoying the day. Not much on the list for today except trying out luck at the food king to get a few things. They have better have STEAKS or there will be trouble. Enjoying coffee this morning and getting caught up on things other than that hope you all have a great Sunday and be safe out there!!
