Most sims use multiple monitors in surround. A projector step up would be great in something like that.

If you ever get a chance, racing games are flipping amazing on a surround set up. I can do 5760x1080 res across 3 24" monitors. It gives enough field of view to see out the side windows

Depends on how wet the lumber is and what grade, species ect. Usually it is wet as **** at the home centers. Menards can have some decent dry stuff but its all usually still construction grade and not really meant for furniture making. If ever build another one you can try to use some pre-treatment to help the stain soak up a bit more evenly but ive never had good luck on 2x4s and the likes.
The good thing is after a few years and projects, it'll take a beating and you wont mind the patina.

2x4's and such as a general rule doesn't stain real good. Because of the treatment.

Exactly. I had some gel dyes work out OK but they tend to be the darker colors. Some of the lighter ones still look blotchy.

let's be real... in six months / whenever I get bored this table is coming apart and I'm building a new one.

GF now wants me to build her a computer desk for her apt. Maybe I'll install this bench there when she's @ work. It'll only take up her entire unit
