Got up early this morning and had breakfast with my dad at the local Hy-Vee (grocery store). They had a free veteran's breakfast.
So does the Garand. Most I shot in one sitting was about 400 rds. I was hitting clays out to 250 yards on iron sights. They were all my reloads and I used a few grains less than the recommended loads for the M1. I cant remember off the top of my head what it was. Whats the load for the 1903?

Happy veterans day jarhead!

Thanks. It snowed here, but I had a decent breakfast.

I haven't started reloading for the 1903, I didn't have any brass, so I've been buying old ammo and some brass as I can get it. Turns out that some of the old ammo I bought was AP rounds... no wonder the damn thing kicks like a mule.

If I recall correctly, I probably picked them up at a gun show in Cali back in the 80s. I bought 50 for like $20, not realizing they were AP rounds. I'll have to poke around and see if I still have some left. I know I have a box of 100 .308 tracer bullets down in the basement. They need to be built into live rounds.

ooooooh... tracer rounds would be great to fire in an M1 or M1a1!
I have a full 8lb jug and a bunch of 1lb cans of IMR4895, a ton of primers and .30 bullets. One of the RO's at the range I go to gave me a couple moving boxes full of spent 30-06 cases that one of the guys at the range collected over the years - he even put the cases back into their original retail boxes . I have more in 223 stuff and .45. I was hoarding when the ammo laws were voted in. With that said, how many live rounds do I have? 3 223, 0 30-06 and 1 full mag for my 1911..

I started a small field fire with a tracer round.

I've got over 10,000 rounds of loaded ammo. About 50 lbs of powder, and roughly 10,000 primers.

I keep 1,500 rounds of .233 , and 500 rounds of 40 S&W in the motorhome.

I'm not sure how much loaded ammo I have, I haven't bothered counting.

I know for sure I have about 2k in 5.56, 1k in .45, about 500 in .308 and some in 380, 9, 357, 40, and a few other calibers. I need to clear the bench and build some more...
