Rainx Windshield Fluid

Didn’t find anything in the search option.
Anyone ever use the Rainx fluid? I’ve read that it damages for the reservoir sensor in German cars, but nothing for Japanese cars. Anyone use this stuff and have any issues? |
I have used it for years. If you rain-x your front window this will help it last a long long time before you need to redo it. 1-2 years.

My Power Wagon and Grand Cherokee doesn't like it. It killed the sensor in both of them. About 6 months apart. :shakes head:

Been using it for probably a decade with no problem, but I don't have any high-end card lol.

I don't put this in the washer reservoir. The Rain-X I use is put onto a clean rag, then treat the screen with a series of circular motions until the screen is covered with a "film" and then polish the glass.
This makes rain "bead" up on the glass and any decent speed will blow the screen clear of water. |

I've been using the orange RainX in all of my cars (Nissan, Ford, Mazda) since 2000 or so, never had any issues.
As previously stated, it'll keep your original application of RainX good for quite a while longer than without. I do a re-application every spring. |
FYI, the temp rating on that isn't a suggestion. Took the Z out for a road trip in winter and by hour #4 the "fluid" was more of a slush. Poured some yellow de-icer fluid in to drop the freezing point.

More mixed reviews lol.
Okay I’ll rephrase: Has anyone used the rainx windshield fluid (not the spray on cloth and apply stuff) in their 370Z and had any sensor issues or any issues related to this fluid? |
I've used the Prestone version, with the soapy bubbles, with no troubles.

My 59 has a bottle of alcohol you would dump in windshield washer tank (glass washer jar) to keep fluid from freezing.Dealer would put extra fluid for washer in summer and alcohol in winter. That must of messed up some paint finishes. |
