After my dad retired, he had told me that he knew 4 people that died within 5 years of retirement. He always kept busy doing things around the house. I think after working all your life, you need to keep doing stuff after retirement, otherwise you just stop moving all together!

My dad is 88 and works delivering parts for NAPA. I've known several folks that retired with 30 from the military and died within 5 years. Gotta keep the brain and body active.

I'z up.

Feels like someone beat me up in my sleep. Came home from work yesterday and changed out 2 idle pulleys on the Power Wagon fan belt. The bottom doesn't like to go swimming in deep water. This is the 4th one that I have changed. After that. Got the carpet scrubber out and started shampooing the carpet in the motorhome. One of the renters had spilled something in one area. Have to finish shampooing today after work.

JL, I wish I had some free time. Friday, I have a woman coming in to look at the motorhome. Bill and this brother is staying the night. Saturday, I have a guy coming in to pick up the motorhome. Then off to pick up the rest of my new patio furniture. Then to finish up the raise bed garden, the 5 year retaining wall project, fixing the front porch, finishing up the ceiling replacement in the basement, redoing the bathroom in the basement, redoing the patio block, and a bunch more.

I got this to disinfect the carpet/floor after vacuum and shampoo. It works pretty good.

Today I'm going to stain the front porch, ran out of time yesterday, did the back porch Tuesday, looks great !
Somewhere between 2-4 pm have a a/c contractor coming over to quote a new a/c unit. This is going to be interesting because they installed the original one 16 yrs. ago and it was
$1,800 ...... let's see how much they've gone up !
Got a quote from another source and it ranged between $4,700 and $3,600

When I retired. I basically took a year off and did some traveling. Spent over 60 days in the motor home that summer. Went on 2 cruises. Worked on the house.

When you own a house and especially when you have property the list of things to do goes on forever and when you have a job there's just not enough time in the day
