No way in hell would I sign up for crap like that. No insurance company is going to be spying on me in that way.

The way I see it. More insurance companies will start doing this. With some, it could be mandatory.

They give you a 5% discount regardless of how you drive. The funny thing is even with all that I'm still sitting on a 9% discount right now.

Gotta take care of them; as they will dull like other bits when abused :ugh2:
Some of the best cutting ones are made of carbide...now they literally drill about anything  :icon14:

yep, even carbide can be no match for the abrasiveness of inconel. I hated machining that crap. Hastelloy X was another that can **** right off. Fun fact, the armor that surrounds the CPU in the black boxes of airplanes is made from solid blocks of inconel. When we machined them we used ceramic with no coolant (obviously) and spun the cutters at 18K rpm. Molten chips of inconel flying puts on a good show.
This video is mild. We threw steady streams of chips that actually melted the plastic safety windows on the machine lol.

Yup! They're not penalizing anyone (yet) bc they want as many people as possible to participate so as to build a coherent data collection.

I'm sure someone will come up with a way to clone your ECU (so the VIN matches w insurance records) and wire the board to a OBDII port.. and to a nice plug for your garage outlet. "Yup, that car sits in the garage all day, e'ery day."
