Just because people have the equipment to have kids, doesn't mean they should....:shakes head:

The flip side is that most states frown on you leaving your 3 year old home alone so that you can go to work... and since wages have not kept pace with inflation, it virtually necessitates a 2 family income.

A good buddy just retired from the Navy as a Captain (O-6). Man, we're getting old!!

:hello:

I'z up.

Waiting to punch in.

Sept like chit last night. Dealing with turf toe. Stepped wrong coming off a forklift yesterday. Bent my big toe back to far on my left foot. The foot with the pins. Can't put any weight on the ball behind the toe. So I'm walking on the side of my foot.

If EW tells me to suck it up. He'll be sucking through a straw.

Because of the schedule I worked (3-midnight), I was home for the kids during the day. The ex worked the overnight shift, so she took care of them when I wasn't home. It was a trade-off. When we both worked days, we took turns taking vacation/sick time to take care of the kids, though usually it was me that wound up using all my vacation/sick time every year. :icon14::icon14:

I've taken days off when I had no PTO, yeah it made life tough on short paychecks, but it was all about what we considered important. Probably the reason I got divorced... :ugh2:

I'm not saying it can't be done, but your last paragraph sums up a lot of why it would be undesirable ;) Sometimes a sick kid in daycare is better than the alternatives.
