Back from the unplanned road trip. My mom's younger brother and older sister both passed away within 48 hours of each other. I had to drive my parents to New Orleans for my uncle's funeral, with the plan to drive to North Carolina to see my aunt before she passed. Well, somethings don't go as planned. My aunt died Tuesday morning before we could leave for New Orleans...

So we headed to NO, hoping the NC funeral would be Saturday. Nope, it was the same day as the NO funeral, Thursday. Right now, I hate driving....

Could be, she's been having some memory issues. Sometimes it's short term, other times, she mis-remembers older events. She's 83, so I suppose memory issues are to be expected.

I did miss the tornado that went close to me and wiped out the town of Linwood. The damn thing touched down just north of where the fiancee's youngest boy lives and went northeast from there. EF4 twister and I got to see some of the damage yesterday. Road signs twisted into sculptures and a group of 5 houses damaged with one across the street untouched...
