Nissan US sales bad, and RB26 motor being made again
Auto sales numbers for Q1 (ex Ford who reports 4/4) came out and it isn't pretty: Nissan down 12.1%
https://news.yahoo.com/high-prices-i...205944588.html The RB26 was the Skyline GT-R engine from 1989-1994. Nissan is now making the engine block again for enthusiasts, but in the Japanese market only: https://www.autoblog.com/2019/03/28/...021&yptr=yahoo and Carlos Ghosn has requested separate trial from Nissan if you're still watching that dumpster fire. |
This should surprise no one.
Their compact truck has been the same since 2005. Their two image building sports cars haven't changed in a decade. All their high volume vehicles have crap CVTs that people are getting sick of replacing. and on and on and on. |

CVTs = no go zone for me... no exceptions! |

So who is gonna be the first to drop an RB26 into their 370Z?

This is what happens when you use CVT and have a partnership with a shitty Euro brand (Renault). Go back to geared transmissions, face lift for all models, and focus on quality the Japanese way. How hard is that? Fools. Some people dig their own graves.

I recall when Nissan was bleeding yen so badly and looking for a ship to rescue them that they found it, but it said T-I-T-A-N ...
Now that it's looking like Fiat-Chrysler will have some kind of merger with Renault, it reminds me of something else I once heard - "no matter how much heat and pressure you apply to a pile of sh%t, you're not going to get a diamond; but instead just a steaming pile of sh*t!" |
