Anybody know what to do with crushing Anxiety?
I've been living a panic attack for the last 5-7 days and can not do a thing to make it go away.
1. Taking meds 2. Talking to Shrink I'm starting to give up ...that's kinda scary I do photography, i play piano, i'm joyless :shakes head: |
You need to see a Doctor. Good friend of mine went through this. It just came on all of the sudden. You will get better.

Did you go to a psychiatrist or a psychologist? They take two very different approaches and people often confuse them as being the same thing. If you're taking meds, probably a psychiatrist. They tend to med it and forget it.
A licensed professional counselor (psychologist) may help: https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/t...search=chicago I know it seems like there's no end, but it'll get better. The fact that you're asking is good. |
Could be a medical condition (overactive thyroid, hypoglycemia, etc). Go see an MD.

You should immediately talk your psychiatrist. You need to either adjust or change your medication. Anxiety is very treatable.

Tuff to deal with.I would try to find a good psychologist. Not easy to find. I think psychiatrists tend to medicate. You need to talk with someone to help with learning copeing skills at the root of the problem. You may not even know what the root is at this time.Hard to pull out of darkness. Keep in touch with all of us at 370Z forum. Don't give up. |
Exactly, psychiatrists almost never do talk therapy. That's a trope that Hollywood has spread. However, only they can write prescriptions (in most states). There are good ones, but there are also a lot of bad ones. That's a whole other thing though. A (good / experienced) psychologist will be able to help develop tools to handle the problem. It's sort of like remodeling a building while you're living in it. Understanding what's going on is often a huge relief in and of itself, which a professional can diagnose. The language suggests depression, which is very common with panic disorder.
Also if it's been one long panic attack or those give up thoughts continue, see a doctor (doctor doctor) sooner than later. * Disclaimer, I have no idea what I'm talking about. I'm just some jerk on a car forum that's in school for this. |
Find a clinical psychologist who specializes in cognitive behavioral therapy.
Seriously the best option. Should be a relatively quick process with life-long results. Good luck! |

So you are doing major items I could point you towards, but it takes time. Don't stay isolated, do something anything you can. Walk, run, workout, talk to friends , family. Less time you have just by yourself better. |
