I stopped watching when they went mainstream. And they don't turn right all that often.

I remember those days! Cruising the streets with a 440 Dart with a 572ci motor. Looking for a race.

I got to experience cruising myself. Folks would come from the surrounding city's to cruise Grant St. It would be packed from one end to the other. Great times. They turned it into a one way street my Sr. year. Never was the same.

Cleaned the rear of the Z up. From drilling out the stock sub-frame bushings, which are filled with silicone. The rear got spatter with silicone and rubber. Made a nice mess. Cleaned it and waxed all the way up to the front fenders. Stopped right there. Figure that I'm going to be cutting the fenders shortly for the vents.

One of the places we would go to was the Uniontown shopping center. After the businesses closed up for the day. That place would be packed. The police would stay away as long as there was no trouble. Seen guys smoke their rear tires right off showing off. Guys streaking on motorcycles, just wearing a helmet and a smile. If you wanted a beer. All you had do is to stick your hand out, and someone would put a cold one in it. All racing was done someplace else. But the bets was made there. Seen a lot of Benjamin's change hands. LARGE amounts. Had one guy, we called "Old Green Teeth" Most of his teeth was rotten and falling out. He would be smoking a Dago knocker, have a rub in, plus a wad. Drinking coffee. His breath just reeked. He would come in late driving a old Chevy pick-up with a '56 Chevy on the trailer. The car was covered in chicken chit. Had one bucket seat and windshield. No other glass in the car. No one ever seen what was under the hood. He had a big chain and a pad lock on it. So no one knew what was under the hood. Only seen him loose one race. That car was damn fast. It would carry the front wheels through 2 gears.

Getting $900 back this year. Way lower than in previous years. Oh well. At least I don't have to pay.
