Twin Turbo Build

2 Attachment(s)
I am currently having my engine rebuilt and it is almost complete with AAM Competition twin turbo kit. Been a very long 5 months but should be worth the wait. My engine building guy sent me a picture of the AAM intercooler. It had a lot of slag. Is this normal to have this much slag in here?? The intake pipes are also offset.

Staying with UpRev. I’d only make the jump to Ecutek if I went E85. There’s just not enough differences between the two to justify the cost since I already have UpRev.

I was going back and forth between the two companies but couldn't pass up the EFR's. My engine builder has been nothing short of amazing. Shout out to RMB Motorworks in Ramsey New Jersey. Those guys are legit!

yea the EFR's are good turbos. but the AAM kit just seems to have so many issues from what i've heard.

i am between the R888R's, sport cup 2's, or NT01's for the GT-R.

i think i may just go with whichever outlasts the others. the grip is about the same between them all. but i have like 3 long trips i want to take the GT-R on this summer.

think when the weather breaks im gonna go to toronto, then zdayz in may, myrtle in june, then possibly another beach for sisters wedding when they pick a date and location.

I am leaning towards the R888's. They are the only ones that have a chance of hooking up when warm. Not sure how long they are going to last.

That is a negative. That is not normal. It may be normal for an AAM kit though.

just make sure to keep an eye out for the turbo oil line issues. that seems to be a big one.

also, i agree that the intercooler should not be full of slag like that.

Sounds like your shop is keeping an eye out while installing it. THats a big step in the right direction. Look into possibly getting an exa pump for the oil return. I believe that has solved the smoking turbos issue for a few guys. Double check in the FI section to be sure, see my comment above about my memory :icon17:
