I’m on call once every 2 months,,,not bad; but this was a different (last minute) situation & got it layed in my lap on a 3day weekend. :ugh2:
I’ll get paid-but I like a couple days off now & again too. Lately been working 10.5-11hr shifts...and gracious for the OT :tiphat:
Glad I’m physically able to work & pay the bills; as I could easily be 6’ under or disabled after what happened nearly 1yr ago.

Why don't you just move in. This way he doesn't have to invite you. I image he could use the extra help around the house. Washing dishes, taking out the trash, dusting, mopping the floors, cleaning the windows, etc. And you could pick up the food tab too. madwi could fix you up a nice cardboard box in the garage to sleep in, while Nismo stays in the house.

When I was at the power plant. Everyone was on call. When you only have 25 people to begin with. 3 on a shift. When something happens. It's all hands on deck.
