We went to Mexico twice a year back in those days. Now we get one family trip to the in-laws lake house for a week. It’s a great time but still miss being young and dumb in Mexico.

I don’t have any complaints since I found the right one. I pretty much lucked out.

Agreed. In my case it's a convenient partnership with very few drawbacks. Wife is hyper logical, makes lots of money, and handles most routine tasks around the house (food shopping, cooking, cleaning); I handle a lot of the yard work, car work, and home improvements.

The down sides are mostly things like trying to see her family on holidays (they're super nice people - I'm not) and having to discuss financial decisions before making them ;)

Done the full Monte, got married the 1st time in 84 and had our first kid in 89. Had tons of fun before kids and with kids as we didn't let them keep us from traveling. I got divorced in 2002, single life was fun. I didn't have to worry about someone else's feelings and could do what I want but I wanted a partner to share life adventures with. I remarried in 2004 almost broke up in 2012. Told my wife I won't be miserable ever again so if we go our separate way I am done with marriage. The kids are all growed up I am retired with a pension coming in and working full time making six figures....so life really sucks lol. Do I have regrets, yes I do but I wouldn't trade life for anything it has been a wild ride and I am just getting started because I don't know what I want to be when I grow up, but Rusty and some the other old folks are giving me some ideas LMAO!

First time. Married in 1981. I was 25, and Jacqui was 20. One daughter in '83. Jacqui got cancer in 2007, and past away from it in 2011 at the age of 49. Remarried in 2013 to Chris. Now I have 3 stepsons and 5 grandkids. Both wifes are keepers.

I am working on a course meal for Valentines day. Gotta start planning now so I can test everything and tweak as needed. As of right now, it's sparse.

Pre appetizer: homemade pretzel with a piped honey mustard

Appetizer: Mozzarella and basil wrapped together with thin strips of prosciutto. Piped balsamic glaze overtop. (Will need to thicken glaze for it to stick)

Salad: Any ideas? Was thinking of pickled radish's, hard boil egg, red leaf lettuce, and red onion

Main Course: Either duck or a rack of lamb. Sous vide bath for either followed by roasting. The cuts would sit atop a small pool of creme fraiche. Sides would be either minimal starch and whipped potatos or a risotto. Paired with french bread mixed with amylase.

Cheese cleaner: Gruyere overtop a soft baguette slice and piepd with raw honey. Goat type cheese overtop a cracker with almonds and a blue cheese overtop a pita chip with some sort of fig. I want to garnish these better.

Dessert: Flan or cheesecake. Need garnish ideas still.
