Default car ramps

Has anyone made their own car ramp, not talking about the ones you drive on to from the front but the ones' who actually you can drive up and have the entire car be lifted off the ground leveled? I'm thinking of making a set of 4 but the more I think the ones for the rear will have to be able to be taken apart by levels, the higher you go the more you would stack, let's say wood...any opinions, youtube failed me on this one, thanks

How would you get the whole car up? Seems like you’d be limited to the clearance of the car which isn’t a whole lot to begin with. People have trouble with the standard rhino ramps at stock height since the front air dam/chin spoiler thing is so low. Quick Jack is a reasonable alternative for getting a car up quickly once you get your land marks and a system set up.

If I need the whole car in the air I just use wood cribbing under the wheels and a floor jack to get the car up. Once you have the wood cut up, it's actually rather quick and painless to get the car up or down from the cribbing.

Thanks, guys, I did lots of research and if it's not the lip clearance it's the sides so I have ramps that are for low profile and have a floor jack, tomorrow I'm buying some jack stands and start the manual tranny oil change, and if all goes to plan I will do the gear oil change as well, wish me luck

Wow my car must be lower because I can't seem to find a ramp that would actually fit under the car for the rear wheels to not rub the sides, unless you used the jack to get it on the ramps which is the same as jack stands....

I used Rhino ramps to drive up but had to modify the ramps with wood transition pieces so I would not scrape the front end. Once I got drove onto the ramps, I jacked the center of the car and used those same transition pieces along with a few other wood pieces to balance out the car on the back end.

Ramps in the rear would be more stable and safer then jack stands.

I would not work under that. I have some solid 2 x 10" ramps that I use just for jack clearance.

So for $24 I bought a set of jack stands they worked great got the car leveled with the ramps I had. What I did was put the ramps on the rear of the Z and backed up, used my 2 ton jack to place the stands in the front done deal, the transmission oil change was a breeze as well as the stinky rear differential, all done and the car shifts like medicated cotton...worth the hassle as it feels like a new car..., thanks for all the replies guys you are the best....Love my Z every day more as I did detail/ paint restoration yesterday and didn't drive it due to the rain. I need to get a dash camera to prove to ppl that my car gets more looks than a naked Christina Aguilera
