What's happening @ AAM Competition?
Been trying to contact them recently for a Base Ecutek Map for my TT build as it is just about ready for tuning.
But I do not get a reply from them via e-mail. I am in Australia so I haven't tried to call them yet, maybe I will try calling them instead? |

If I were you I wouldn’t even contact them for anything. When I dealt with them they rarely returned calls let alone emails. Once they got your money they give very little support after.
If you’re doing an E-tune just go with Seb@specialtyZ. |

Trying to get in contact with any vendor by email is one of the worst forms of communication. You should try to call them first before you go any further. They are still in business. I had work done by AAM Competition on my last Z. In my experience they are one of the best vendors I have dealt with. They have top notch customer service overall and were always professional, honest and helpful in my experience. If you got your base ECUTEK map from AAM Competition I would only deal with them regarding your tune.

Ok someone named Scott from AAM was finally kind enough to respond to my e-mails.
$495 for a base tune though. Plus gotta pay my tuner the tuning fees and license fee etc. Wonder if it would be about the same as getting a standalone ecu? |

What? The kit doesn't include the base map? That's sad, but this is AAM we're talking about. Every other kit includes that IIRC. Also, it is nowhere near the same as getting a standalone.

AAM stands for All About Money. That's all they really care about. Hence why I sold everything I had from them and went with a company that has better service. AKA F.I.

They didn't use to be as bad, though. It seems like it's been the last few years that they've really become a totally crap vendor. Originally they seemed to be pretty solid.

I original talked to Fast Intensions. They semed not interested in working on my car.I was going to drop a lot of money.I called two times and they where rude and disinterested. This surprized me since I had heard good things about them. I then went with AAM.Their price was less than FI.They built the motor.Everything with AAM was going well.Emails of build every day. Then the person I was dealing with left AAM for another job. Then comunication became poor.I had to call every day. They would return calls but I had to stay on them.Lucky for me at this time all that was left was the tune. I think both companies make good products.People have good days and bad days. |

After the whole manifold debacle, I wouldn't trust AAM as far as I could throw them. I wouldn't go so far as to say they make good products. I think their ceiling is " acceptable", not "good".
