Nowhere in that post does it mention Sport 19s. It just says 19s. Wheres the "Context" when you dont even clarify what youre talking about.

hostile? my young Z son i am not hostile. you would know if i was lol you were not here for my hostile years

but, we were speaking about his base 18s after i was speaking about stock 19's and tires sizing. therefore the conversation between him and i went to him saying he was thinking about moving to 19s. i then assumed he meant stock rays 19s so the conversation then continued that direction.

now, as for your comment. yes, diameter doesn't equal grip. i grew up at a drag strip and other tracks i'm aware of all this lol

Context f'er if the way it was said could be taken the wrong way. And since i was low on coffee, it was

Honestly for the price people sell OEM sport wheels id get something different. Wider 18s if looking to save money in the long wrong, or some custom offset / sized 19s for looks/use.

19x10.5 squared is what id reccomend personally if you want all around goodness. 275 or 285 squared with a 35 sidewall for a combo of response + ride quality.

As for tires, i hate to say it id Take S0-4s over Michelins for the price point, grip, and ride quality as a whole. The michelins are quieter, but i don't like how unresponsive they get once you push them on a back road.

Indy 500s i hear are a good tire, no experience yet. Im contemplating them for my DD tire just so they will last.

And then if you just want mad grip and have the money to be a baller, RE-71Rs or Advan Sport V105s

my first upgrade was to MPSS in stock sizes. i then proceeded to roll a shoulder on the dragon and went with RE-11's the following year in bigger sizes. didnt look back since that. they just worked on the car and for my driving.

now, this whole picking out tires for the GTR is absolutely foreign. been on the forums/tire rack for weeks now going back and forth.

Yeah, I think a whole new setup. I plan on upgrading my brakes with Akebonos in the near future, and I dont think the base 18's will allow that.

If I was running in your class I would go with A052 in 295 35. They are expensive but the tire size is spot on and the grip is supposed to be as good as re71s. They also are supposed to wear a lot better.

The tire of choice talking to some my gtr acquaintances are toyo r888r if no going with Mitch cup tires!

I can tell you my r888 on the dragon were awesome, way better than the re-11s.

the R888's are no more and i do like the R888R replacements.

i have been eyeing up the michelin cup 2 tires.

im just debating on which will last slightly longer. i have been driving the Z to work everyday and the GTR has been primarily weekend toy.

my choices right now are:

Cup 2: 285/325
MPSS: 285/335
R888R: 285/325

current tires should last the rest of summer though so i have time lol

The Akebonos will fit with 18s, the Z comes stock with 18's & Akebonos in Australia... according to the marketing stuff I saw. I have the Cardone part numbers for rebuilt Akebonos if you are interested. You will need to either trim the backing plates or replace them and you will need new brake lines, both of which are available from Z1.

Now they aren't painted red, so that you are on your own for...
