That is just horrible. That poor engine. Whoever owned/did that should not own or work on a vehicle ever again.

But, it’ll be that much better once you get it back together correctly. Love working on an engine and knowing you brought it back from The Land of Wind and Ghosts.

Like, i dont know ANYTHING about working on cars for the most part. This is the first time ive ever worked on a motor, but its a miata so its simple and plenty of guides/videos out there to follow. Just seeing this is horrifying, because whoever did this just slapped it together and then sold it.

Thankfully, with a small forturne spent on seals, gaskets, new hoses and other odds and ends, it should be a reliable-ish car for track,autox and the occasional late night top down fun run

Test drive done, no leaks. Wheelwell cover black on, bumper back on. One more freeway and pull test drive and then under tray back on and I'll stick a fork in it!
