I love those old aircraft. I grew up in Barstow CA which is not far from Edward's Air Force Base so I got to see a lot of cool stuff as a kid in 60's and 70's. Them boys back in the day used rattle our window breaking the sound barrier. So time times they would break a few when they would do that nonsense at or below 300'. LMAO

I had the pleasure of seeing that aircraft overhead while on Okinawa and tracking him on scope once. If you don't pick him up on the first sweep, he won't be there on the second.:eek:

The Japanese and the Air Force jockeys at Kadena called the SR-71 Habu...because it was black and quick, just like the snake.:icon14::icon14:

I was in the formation when they retired the SR71 at Robins AFB in Warner Robins Ga Museum. During the ceremony an F15 went vertical right over top of us. I heard the turbines whining just before we got the hot jet wash. That was awesome.

Most work part time, and go to college at the same time.

When I was in the DoD. Flew in to an air base in the UK for a stop over. While there. I got to watch a SR 71 take off. That thing was dripping fuel on the runway. Then I got to watch one land. Had a chance to get some what close to it. I still remember the smell. Smelled like burned metal that was heat treated. The LT said everytime it goes up. It gets heat treated.

Gimme those suggestions then. Oh and these tires are for pure track usage. Must be above 200TW, and cannot exceed 285 in width.

you running square 285s? or still staggered?

also if its track use why care about being over 200TW? if it's track only i would say go Michelin Cup 2's they're close at 180TW.

if you need to be over 200TW for some class specs then just go get the Michelin 4s or Bridgestone RE-71R

Square 285s, have a second set of wheels for track now.

Class Restriction between both GTA and Corner 3 Nissan challenge it has to be 200TW or Higher. Nissan Challenge doesnt allow RE71R, plus thats a lot of money for tires that dont last that long.

i mean it's racing kinda have to pay to play i feel. kinda weird they wont allow a tire that falls under their rules though.

but, if you're buying rubber on a tight budget then idk what to tell you. all i know is i would never run any of the 3 you listed on the street let alone the track.

Its not so much on a budget, there are people i know who can get maybe 3-4 track days out of RE-71Rs solely on track driving.

Federal RS-RRs are super common in GTA for the class division and they are quite fast. AD08Rs wear better than them but are just expensive. SUR4Gs are what Eagle and a few others are running and they really like them.

Plus rules are rules so i gotta abide by them, and too be fair RE71s are way faster than most other 200TW tires out there.

i just have never heard many positive reviews of the 3 others nor much of anyone ever running federal. so my opinion is bias the other way.

i was just with my buddy last weekend and he's in love the RE-71s on his M3 that sucks you cant use them.

i'm currently trying to pick the next tires for the GTR and making 0 progress lol

Pure street car or do you have any intention to track it?

Just street use.

I personally love the specs of my VMRs for the street, along with the look.

They fit wide enough tires to be dangerous.

19x9.5 +25, 19x10.5 +22. I can drop some pictures for reference for how they sit in the wheel well if you want. 19s just look damn good on the Z, but obviously 18s are cheaper, and if you go square you can rotate your tires.
