Saturday!! :happydance:

JARblue 06-30-2018 07:41 AM

I was planning to get up early and do some washing before the sun starting blazing, but I am surprisingly sore from fishing yesterday - we hiked down river about 6 miles. Found some nice honey holes, too

Probably go into the office for a bit and then hit K1 for a few laps when they open :driving:

Was planning on getting up early too. That didn't happen. Stayed up late with new puppy. Had pizza that talked back to me later in bed. Had to get up and take some Tums. :shakes head:

I have a slight slope in my floor to the drain that is in the middle of the garage. Should be able to shim it level without too much hassle. I shot them an email to see what they say.

Mr. Wi... the more and more I look at this, the more I think maybe I should reconsider my garage design. Perhaps it would be advantageous to build with a taller roof to incorporate a lift of some sort.

Maybe a two post lift would be idea.

If you go with a twin post overhead lift. You need about a 12ft ceiling. If you go with a twin post baseplate. You need about a 9.5ft ceiling. If you go with a scissors lift. You don't need that much. Me, I would go for the twin post overhead. You can walk under the vehicle.

See that's what I'm saying. I'd love to be able to do brakes and fluid changes while standing.

If you have the ceiling height and have a good 4"+ slab base, a full size lift is where it is at.
Benpak and others have a two post overhead support with a 58" lift that fits 9' ceilings.

Since the garage isn't built yet, I can pretty much do whatever I want. A lift might be a wise investment, as I seem to be the general maintenance go to for the family, no to mention I have nieces driving and kids who will be in a few years.

If I had to do it again I would for sure have 12’6” min. High ceiling.
