You maybe right. :shakes head: Trying to find time to get on the track is hard to come by. Everytime there is a date for a trackday. The wifey has us taking a trip. Think she knows the schedule. :icon14: The days for July and Aug are booked full already. :shakes head:

Completely destroyed stock shift knob getting it off..possibly the hardest thing I've tried to unscrew in ages! Ordered this from Billetworkz. Just waiting for my shift knob finisher. This knob is a beefy beast!

I got skills that pay the bills. :D

When you have been a mechanic, welder, machinist, fabricator, blacksmith, millwright, pipe fitter, welding engineer, mechanical engineer, SME, BOP, CRO, and some other stuff that I can't talk about. You pick up some skill sets. But I hate working with wood.

Chit, that's my resume.

I was a commercial carpenter...this was glued on and probably needed a 2 foot pipe wrench to take it off, but I used 12 inch channel lock pliers.

Strap wrench is how I took mine off. My shift knob is intact.

Leingod 06-30-2018 06:13 AM

Wrapped mine in electrical tape until it was the size of a baseball. Then I wrapped it more with gaf tape unless it was the size of a softball. Then I bought the largest pipe wrench Harbor freight had. And the sucker popped right off. Tore through about 2 inches of tape when twisting, but the knob is in pristine condition still.
