Lightning just struck and took out the power supply on my living room cable box and my WIFI router is dead!

I guess it's time to bite the bullet and get the Google Wifi 3 pack. Didn't someone on here just recently get this? Thoughts? Suggestions?

I've been happy with mine. Works better than my previous setup with multiple wireless routers and a bridge. I just wish I could completely turn off the light on it.

Me. I just purchased 3 more so I have 6 total. Still the best on the market. You won't be disappointed. Make sure your modem is alright as well. If not, I recommended a Motorola surfboard 9000 series. It's docsis 3.0 compliant so you'll be safe for the next 4 decades of internet throughput.

I picked up a set a few months back per your suggestion. The only issue I have is occasional drop/lag. But I'm not convinced it isn't on the ISP side because I've been having some similar issues with a hardwired machine. I haven't been bothered enough by it to start troubleshooting.

You gotta heat your tires & clock your 0-60...I know it’s quick!

There is also another reset you can do by shorting some pins. The sequence is complicated so it's a major pain. I tried both repeatedly a while back only to find out that basically the entire system had failed - dealer covered over $6K worth of repairs.

I have noticed some lag on specific devices, but I am not convinced it's from the signal. I can have my phone hop between all 6 spots cleanly while using wifi calling. My intel NUC stick stutters from time to time, but i think it's from the crappy wifi card built inside it. I've never had any drops though.

My Connection is only 50/10. Currently have 28 devices connected to the various hubs. (a lot of wifi lightbulbs and switches).

I've got about a dozen devices connected to the hubs. The wifi typically gives me 50/30. My actual connection is 200/50. Going to hardwire the house this year and hopefully stop relying on wireless for anything other than a couple of mobile devices and smart home stuff. Right now I've got the tv, stereo, blu-ray players, gaming devices, etc all on wireless.

I'd like to do some of this. At the moment I only have a WIFI thermostat. Having older kids, I'd like to get some locks and exterior cameras too.

It's always a joy reading about Gale's car whenever a new magazine picks it up

I have the Schlage Connect (front door look) and find it extremely convenient. Can program different codes for everyone and it will track the door locking operations, telling you whether it was manual or which code was used and when. I can lock and unlock it remotely with an app. It pairs with Alexa, who can lock it but cannot unlock it (most likely for security reasons).
