I was thinking of asking about 93 and 91oct settings. But the difference in price here is literally identical and I have enough choices for 93 in my area. I do need to learn better the traction control setup and how it'll impact the car.

Yeah I'm fine here, but if I ever cruise the country (such as on my drive to Zdayz) I want the option to switch if I need to.

how are you guys switching between maps? like.. what must be done to go from one map to another.. are you using a laptop, plug it into the OBD11 connection, then upload your map that way?

eastwest2300 05-15-2018 08:37 AM

its not like some sorta switch that allows you to do it immediately?

JLarson 05-15-2018 08:44 AM

Well I have the ecutek bluetooth hookup which allows me to change maps through my phone. But the maps are also switchable via your cruise control button.

I just use my laptop to load the ROMS Seb send me. For switching maps, you hold down the cruise control button for 1 second. It forces your tachometer needle to move between 1k, 2k, 3k, etc. Each number represents what map is currently selected. So 1k = map 1. 2k = map 2. Press the cruise control button again and it locks that map.

How is the bluetooth adapter? I couldn't justify the $300 price tag when i ordered my kit. And how is throttle response for you in 1st and 2nd? I am over revving like crazy. I need to adjust my clutch pedal to be just slightly further down to see if that helps.

I got it used from someone parting out, and paid $150ish for it. It's a fairly powerful device and let's you monitor quite a bit of information from your ECU, and can be customized to your needs. If I had a bluetooth tablet in my dash, it'd be even better. The reality is I hardly use it, but every time I've needed it it's been worth its weight in gold (for example, when I went to oversized throttle bodies, I didn't have to do the pedal dance... I just had to click a button on my cell phone and it re-learned my idle).

Throttle response for me is decent. From everything I've read, Seb seems to lean towards very abrupt throttle response; stock car has no throttle response; and I'm probably somewhere in the middle (drastically improved over stock, but still linear, as in the more I push down the pedal the more the TB's open), though I'd have to try one tuned by Seb to give truly accurate feedback.

I'm still slightly over-revving as well since I just installed the RJM Sunday but I was much better on my drive in to work today. Love that pedal.

I have the Up Rev. I use the cruise control to switch maps. Normally I use the 93 map. But have used the 91 map when traveling.

Gotcha. Right now, it's press and go. No linear curve at all. Hopefully he can understand my limited lingo in terms of what I want. haha. I sound like a moron at lights right now leaving 1st and either chirping the tires or doing that weird throttle and clutch dance where the clutch hasn't disengaged completely, but the rpm's keep climbing. lol

eastwest2300 05-15-2018 09:23 AM

I've got UpRev too, I had no idea about these maps..

Just tell him the throttle is a bit too responsive. He'll dial it back.

It's because you are unloved. I'm sorry to be the one to tell you.
