Apparently their's 2 combos for high DPS that the SA should be used for. I discovered it last night.

1st: pressing O to do a single double slash followed by R2 into sword mode that'll instantly do a triple hit with Elemental damage

2nd: in sword mode, hitting triangle and O followed by pressing up on the joystick with O to mount and discharge all phials for an elemental burst. It does fixed damage apparently.
