Interesting. Supposedly, from what I've heard, the tune will make a much bigger difference on your car than some of the later models. The early ECU's were not as able to adjust for mods by themselves.

Not that it matters really, you're not driving it modified currently, so for you it's just going to be an abrupt huge improvement to everything at once. Expect your gas mileage to decrease ;)

I barely get 19mpg right now. This'll be interesting. First i've heard of older models being more responsive to tunes compared to later years though. I'll have to research it a bit. If true, this'll be even more fun!

Don't misunderstand me - what I'm saying here is that for example my car (2014) really didn't see as significant a gain to whp from the tune, partly because my ECU had already self adjusted to accommodate for the mods.

If you were to put the mods on your car and just drive with them, your 2009 ECU would adjust a little bit, but apparently not as much. So your tune will be a much bigger factor in eventual output.

this is going to be amazing!! I am going to make ALL the ponies!!!

GF was beyond mad last night though when I showed here what $900 gets you for a "tune". Apparently she wasn't impressed with a very expensive cable and flash drive. lol

Lol. My wife and I have an understanding. As long as I get my mods used, or at a significant discount, the fiscally conservative side of her is placated. I consider this to be an acceptable arrangement.

She understands I reserve a set amount each year for this kind of stuff. She just couldn't wrap her head around my excitement for a simple cable. hahahaha. I did show her retail costs for everything i purchased and she was more then impressed I spent 3k instead of over 7k.

I probably should have phrased this better. I suppose if I got my mods used and they weren't at a discount, she'd probably be displeased. (Hey baby check this out! I bought it used AND paid retail!!)
