My day got shot to helll and back. My '13 Grand Cherokee TrailHawk started to make a whining sound in the front a couple of weeks back. I figure it was either a wheel bearing or the front diff. Was hoping it was the wheel bearing. Took it in to the dealership. Well...........it's the diff. Can't be rebuild because it's a TrailHawk. They only made it one year, and it's a different diff from a normal Grand Cherokee. No parts are available. Only complete diffs. $1,900 installed.

And my warranty was up 2,000 miles ago.

I checked, and I can't find the parts I need.

Can't find one in a scrap yard either. Everyone says THAT diff is dealer item only. I must be the first one to have the front diff go bad on a TrailHawk. It's been a great vehicle until now.
