Don't drive under the influence. Good article and vid to show when getting a license. Driving is a privilege, and a vehicle is a deadly weapon. BTW, it gets graphic.

PSA video about accidents
Don't drive under the influence.
Good article and vid to show when getting a license. Driving is a privilege, and a vehicle is a deadly weapon. BTW, it gets graphic. Just a warning.

That's powerful stuff, more graphic than the texting while driving ad campaign. I like how they gradually build up from getting caught by the law to the more dire consequences of the fatal accidents. Well done and deserving of an award, IMHO.
I think that should be shown in drivers' ed classes to drive the point home - maybe it will get the message to some people. Sadly, there will be those that will never learn or can only learn the hard way. My lesson was an easy one and thankfully did not involve driving: When I was 18, we vacationed for Christmas/New Years in the Bahamas. The legal drinking age there at the time was 18. I went out on the town with some cousins one night and had 4 or 5 beers. I sat down to play Galaga, an old favorite that I have been able to almost master back in the day at the arcade. I decided to play while I thought I was just slightly inebriated. I was shocked to find that all three of my ships were destroyed before completing Stage 1. I thought to myself, "If I cannot even play a videogame that I could usually get into double digit levels without losing one ship after a few beers, I don't even want to think about how alcohol will affect my driving skills." Fortunately, the only lives lost in my lesson were electronic sprites. |

starts getting interesting at about the 2:20 mark, and again at 3:50. not overly graphic though.
the guy getting clipped at 2:35 reminds me of the first Final Destination where the chick steps into the street and gets mowed down by the bus. at 4:06 the old man gets scooped up by the car PERFECTLY! there's a better one at 4:16 though.
