Well one of my favorite uncles ever is not doing well. His cancer is back and it has spread to his bones. He is now in surgery because his kidney is bleeding. My mother has just left to go see him in West Virgina. I can not come as I have finals tomorrow. I hope that you will pray for my mother "Mary" and give her strength for her journey. I hope that you will pray for my Uncle Bill as well. I am not asking for much just a prayer. If he does leave us it will not just be me that will be in pain. But my mother as well.

Really sorry to hear man. Cancer is a bitch and seems to favor the holidays. Maybe it just seems that way... I hope your mother's trip is a smooth one and everything comes out okay for your uncle.

Be strong for her bro.

I know what you mean.
My father lost his father around Christmas when he was a child.
My grand mom passed in March after we took her to see the Rockettes in December.

Cancer sucks. Lost my FIL this summer after a lengthy battle with brain cancer. One of the smartest guys I've ever met and would do anything to make people happy.

I hope your uncle doesn't suffer too much and can get some extra time on this Earth.

Just got off the phone with him. He does not sound well. It was hard for both of us to talk. But I told him I loved him and told him to hang in there. Talked to my mom she called him as well and he asked her is she was on her way to take him home. God this is hard to bare. I am going to see what is going on tomorrow after my test. Might try to head down there.

Lost my dad to cancer at the holidays. Maybe it's a reminder to celebrate the good memories and what you love most. Cherish the happiness-it's what heals. Prayers with you.

Still hanging in there, his bleeding started again a few days ago but I believe they stopped it again. I am not told much just that he is hanging in there.

So, we continue trusting God.

Thanks everyone, it was still a good Christmas and I think we are okay. I am not sure if we will be able to go to his funeral but if not I did talk to him before he left us. Either way he is in a better place.
