I'm not for certain, but I think I just read something around here where they were using urethane glue and some sort of special clamps to get those to seat perfectly flush like that. I don't think 3M tape is going to do that. I could be wrong but the tape at the very least is going to leave a gap the thickness of the tape itself.

I remember seeing that thread too.One of the guys recommended a glue called Goop.I bought some at Home Depot to glue a piece of door trim on a car in the shop and it works great!

Yep. I know you need to clamp it because that urethane glue expands when it dries. If you don't, the trim panel will be hanging half an inch off the car when it dries. I remember in the thread the guy was using some tape and there was some question if the tape would hold it, which I'm inclined to agree with.

I know the thread you are talking about. He was having issues with keeping his rear spats on because of the way they curved. Mine are just factory mud guards and they use tape to hold them.

For that piece, anything that's the right size would probably work fine. This is the stuff I use to stick the rear spoiler on the Camaro. Double-sided and grey.

I used that on my spoiler add on after Chase recommended it. sticks really well. I'd use clamps with either vhb or this adhesive.

Travel Fun

I went through the TSA Pre-check line in Sacramento today and was selected for “additional screening”.

TSA Guy: Is this your stuff?

Me: Yes.

TSA Guy: Do not touch anything.

Me: OK.

TSA Guy: Do you have any electronics in your bags?

Me: Yes.

TSA Guy: What?

Me: Laptop, iPod, hotspot, cell phone, battery pack and a tablet.

I pointed out where each was located in my laptop bag and he took everything out and swabbed it.

TSA Guy: What is in your roller bag?

Me: Clothes and my unmentionables – it is also locked. The combination is 0-0-0.

He then took several swabs.

TSA Guy: You are good to go.

Me: Thank you.

TSA Guy: No, thank you for making this easy.

Me: How so?

TSA Guy: When I saw you waiting for me you looked like the kind of guy who was going to give me a lot of trouble.

Me: There you go.
