I guess it depends on what you are looking for.

Badger Blades made mine for considerably less than Hattori wanted, hence the $1500 price guess. I wasn't looking for a multi-fold blade or something super sharp, just something that looked reasonably like a katana that I could use for a martial arts form. Mine is not sharpened (tournament rules), so a katana capable of cutting wet bamboo rolls, might run you a bit more. :twocents:
