i've got bad painus.

Leingod 05-08-2017 06:18 PM

Finally put the frotn bumper back on. Slight issues though. Any ideas???

The front left side gap between the hood and headlight is wider than on the right. Noticeably wider. All I did was remove the bumper. Any idea why it would form a large gap between the hood the light?

The other issue is the bottom part of the right headlight doesn't align properly with the bumper. The bumper itself was a nightmare to put back on. Holes weren't lining up, the wheel fenders fought with me every step, and my tiny mudflaps won't hold the third screw due to the lip.

Best i could do for photos. Hopefully it's noticeable in them for the gaps.

I seriously don't even know how or what I did to have a gap like that. I took off the bumper. Never touched the fender or headlight.

Tweak where? I don't even see where I would need to do stuff inside the engine. Remove the whole bumper again? I don't get how that would have affected hood/light gap.

It shouldnt. I adjust the hood where it mounts to the car on the arms near the windshield. I have no idea how that could have been moved, I can only guess. Maybe it got tweaked while jacking the car up? Is the hood tightly secured?

madwi 05-08-2017 06:38 PM

You and EW can be hood bros with gaps on the sides :icon17:

Yea. I slammed it a few times just to make sure. I can almost fit a finger inside the gap on the left. I had the car sitting on the pinch rails when jacked up. Didn't plan for it to rain that long. But still, the rails shouldn't have tweaked the fender or lights. It's going to bother me until fixed. I wonder if a shop would be able to fix it.

You may not have seated the bumper cover up under the headlight all the way. Unbolt the inner fender bolts and the upper fasteners and work the bumper up into the slot under the headlight.

The 4 clips under the headlight? I tried and everything appears flush. Pretty sure I'll be removing the damn bumper again when it warms up

Yes -- sometimes those do not get seated right. That is what is looks like.

Thanks. I'll hopefully be able to rip the bumper off again wednesday with a spare set of hands and take a deeper look at everything. I was wondering if the wheel fender liner would have had anything to do with it as well? That's the only other thing I really had to tug on to get to the single bolt behind it.

Looking at the pics in the other thread, I think Mr. onze may be right. It appears it is not seating all the way under the light.
