I took the day off because of my dentist appointment. Originally for 1 filling, but he did both to save me some trouble next week I would have needed off as well. Mouth hurts and gave me a headache, but no bg deal.

I got a text from work that our HR department is going around asking for the "real" reason I took today off. They think I am going for interviews somewhere or putting my resume into places.

Are companies this freaking paranoid and overbearing that they are trying to hunt down employees who requested days off? Such a toxic place.

That will probably lead to further consequences. It's a very tough spot to be in.

I have never seen a HR department with this much power though. They're deciding salaries, tracking employees resumes, and even included in financial info for the company as a whole.

that is horrible. Ive been with companies such as that. I left as quickly as i found something better. It truly is a toxic, demoralizing environment to be in. Run! Run!
