Harbor Freight has some inexpensive options... check the reviews online before buying though.

With Jarblue. However if you go that route, make sure to anchor it down.

Anything in that price range isn't going to be worth having. It won't hold up to sun and weather. Personally, I'd spend the "extra" money and get a metal carport cover (with closed sides if needed).

As others have mentioned, make sure whatever you get is anchored well.

Let's not pretend that this guy won't take a look at all the advice here and then go and do exactly the opposite. Again.

Ok I'll bite...
  • Type - You can buy actual carport or a pop-up canopy.
  • Size - You want at least a 10x10 with straight legs. Bigger if space allows.
  • Legs - You want straight legs, not slanted one (because they give smaller shade...a 10x10 slanted leg canopy only gives an 8x8 shade). Pay attention to the dimension of the legs, some bigger pop-up canopies have beefier hexagon shaped legs.
  • Other Details - the joints, locking mechanisms, weight, fabrics, ("water resistant" does NOT equal to "water proof"), whether a rolling storage bag is included.
  • Accessories - the weight plate, weight bags, anchoring stakes and ropes that may come with the package are fine for an afternoon, but not as a long term anchoring solution. A strong gust of wind hitting a 10x10 canopy/carport can generate easily a few hundred pounds of lifting force, and those smooth edge plastic anchoring stakes won't do. Best to invest in real metal spiral anchors and ratchet tie/down. Check the holding force rating on both.

If you are using this as a semi long term solution, you better buy one that's strong.

While we are on the subject, microfiber don't seem like a good way to dry or wipe up anything it breaks off little peices
