I'm just glad my wife doesn't complain about having to park on the driveway. I'd have no room for anything if we actually put two cars in our two-car garage.

Ryobi 10" slider on sale at Home Depot so I bought that... but then noticed the equivalent Harbor Freight version was on sale and had good reviews, so I went to check it out and seems like a decent quality piece - so I returned the HD version and sold my old 10" compound non-slider which seemed to be losing its adjustments too often... gonna pick up the HF saw after work tonight and get it set up this weekend to test it out... Hopefully it will be good enough for my hobbyist level of wood work.

I will probably catch a ton of flack for it, but I am like HF #1 Fan. The employees recognize me there now.

HF is da bomb! Best one-use-tool prices out there ... and most of them last for more than one use

HF is why I have a transmission jack in my garage. It cost $120 and I used it one time nearly 4 years ago to replace my CSC in my garage. Totally worth it!

No flak from me. I've got a lot of stuff from there, a lot of it has been shite, but some stuff is perfectly fine. Hell, my step drill bits from HF have outlasted some name brands I had I like my roll around stool that I got for $20 too.
I need to look at a drill press too, a small bench top unit.

Yes!!! I too have a HF Tranny Jack rolling around the garage now too that I bought to upgrade my diff cover/bushings. I don't know how I lived without it... I use it to support/lower anything under the car now and makes wrenching solo so much easier. Even just dropping the exhaust is easier with it.

Now that I have it, I can't believe I farmed out my clutch job. Should'a DIY'd it.

The rule of thumb I work under with HF is to check the online reviews first... they don't censor them so it's easy to see what is garbage and what is surprisingly good. Usually there are plenty of reviews too. They also will take darn near anything back at almost any time... I think a lot of folks don't realize how many tools there might be low quality, but carry a lifetime warranty so if they break you just take it back and grab a replacement easy peasy.

BTW I also have the HF step bits (bought for the Boosted Washer Bottle DIY) and have been eyeing that 8" drill press too!

I got this one:

$80 OTD with the 20% coupon that always exists.... You raise and lower it with a 1/2" ratchet.

lucky guy! My wife says that if I can afford to have a toy car then she will always have a spot in the garage. So I told her the solution is a bigger garage/list

I've got this one. It fits under my tool box and does a great job. That being said, I'm farming out the clutch job on my car when it's time. I've dropped one Z transmission (93 300), I had to do that twice, once for the clutch and once when we swapped the engine, and by God, I'm not dropping another Z transmission..... NONONONONONONONONONO.......

Hahahaha yeah I can see it that way too... I dropped the tranny from my 87 RX-7 Turbo back in high school and that was a rough one - but I didn't have a tranny jack, just a lack of good sense and cash.

Farming out my clutch job on the Z is kind of a source of personal shame for me, since I DIY'd everything else. Also the labor would nearly pay for a set of ID1000 injectors..... or if you are mishuko - half a shift knob.
